Kim Bishop

Kim is a former President of the Weed Society of New South Wales and was a key player within the Hunter Central Coast Weeds committees before her retirement. Kim has a background in horticulture and worked at Lake Macquarie City Council for 15 years with the last 10 years as the Vegetation & Pest Management Coordinator dealing mainly with noxious weeds. She has extensive experience in weed management at both local government and regional levels. Her focus was bio-control programs including alligator weed flea beetle, bridal creeper leaf hopper and rust, madeira vine beetle, salvinia weevil and water hyacinth weevil introductions. Kim is undertaking a degree in Environmental Science with a double major in Natural Resource Management and Coastal Management. As part of this degree she is researching Nigrospora crown rot of Giant Parramatta Grass and whether it will, establishment and spread within the region of the Hunter Valley that is outside its known establish areas.
