  • Weeds of Australia – Biosecurity Queensland Edition
    This excellent site has information on the identification, biology and control of over 1000 of Australia’s weeds, and involves a collaboration between the University of Queensland, Lucid, the Queensland Government and the former CRC for Weed Management.
  • Weed Identification and Information for Australia
    Within this site, there are a number of ways of identifying Australian weeds, probably best by using the “weed identification tool” or else scrolling through the “weed search” if you think you know the name.
  • HerbiGuide Site
    Although HerbiGuide is a commercial programme for determining which herbicide to use for controlling weeds in specific crops, they have made available on the internet free an earlier version of their very popular programme for download.
  • Common Invasive Plants in Australia
    This site has been put together by the International Environmental Weed Foundation and provides links to many of the other web-sites within Australia that deal with weed identification.
  • Location of Weed Species in Australia
    This page within the “Atlas of Living Australia” site allows maps to be created of all locations within Australia that any plant species has been collected and deposited within herbaria linked to the site.
  • How to Identify Weeds in Australia
    This was put together by Parks and Wildlife in Western Australia to help people work out how to identify weeds.

New Zealand

  • WeedBusters New Zealand
    About 180 weeds are featured in this site, focusing mainly on environmental weeds, looking at identification and control.
  • Auckland Regional Council Pest Plants
    The identification, biology and control of 366 weeds that cause problems, mainly as environmental weeds, in the Auckland region in New Zealand are dealt with in this site.
  • New Zealand Weeds
    This site is hosted by Massey University and covers the identification and control of about 75 agricultural, turf, horticultural and environmental weeds.
  • AgPest
    This site put together by staff of AgResearch looks in detail at the identification and control of many weeds and pests of importance to agriculture in New Zealand.
  • Phil Bendle Collection
    A large number of photos of New Zealand’s weeds can be accessed at this site. One small photo of each species is shown initially, and when each of these is clicked on, many more images appear.
